We discovered these classically styled porcelain fish boxes in an old warehouse and eagerly added them to our collection. Of vintage production, circa 1970, these fine porcelains are entirely hand painted and have an old world quality. The detailing is beautiful and the colors are bold and dramatic. Vibrant orange and royal blue are the predominate colors with shades of pink and green adding to the motif. A lotus flower is also incorporated into the design. Each is glazed inside so it can hold liquid and has a lid. Items of similar production may have been made for banquets where a whole fish has an important symbolic meaning of wealth and prosperity. Add one of these unique accents to your décor when practicing feng shui with your interior design. Place it in the wealth corner to enhance prosperity and good fortune. Place it on an end table or sideboard to add a touch of oriental flavor to a room.
